Volunteer Opening
Web Content Maintainer (English, or Bilingual)
Egale seeks several candidates on an ongoing basis to help format documents to plain HTML and upload these documents to our website. Volunteers will only be coding in HTML, and will not be initially involved with other aspects of the website including graphics and scripting.
Required Availability:
- as needed, ideally on a once-per-week basis
Skills:
- excellent computer skills;
- knowledge and experience in formatting documents in HTML that conform to the "XHTML 1.0 Strict" protocol;
- knowledge and experience in working with CSS stylesheets;
- ability to upload and download using an FTP client;
- knowledge of typesetting rules including the proper use of English and French punctuation, and italics;
- Candidates will be accepted if they lack some of these skills initially, but believe they can learn them on their own.
