Possible Flip-Flop on Equal Marriage

Paul Martin has said the federal Cabinet will discuss the possibility of expanding the Supreme Court reference question at their next meeting. If they decide to send an additional question on civil union, it is tantamount to appealing the Ontario decision and it will delay the whole process by many months.

Paul Martin should show leadership and remain committed to introducing equal marriage legislation immediately following the Supreme Court ruling on the current reference question: No second class status, and No delay.
